It is important that therapy be designed to meet your individual needs. By utilizing a wide variety of treatment styles and strategies, we can develop a plan that will help you achieve your personal goals.
Areas of specialization include:
Abuse, Trauma and Complex PTSD
Dissociative Identity Disorder
Loss and Grief
Stress and Anxiety
Types of Treatment:
Individual: Private sessions can help you resolve personal problems and deal more effectively with life events. This may be accomplished in a brief consultation, in short term intensive counseling or long term ongoing therapy.
Group: Groups provide a unique experience in which you can learn and practice new ways of interpersonal interaction. Groups help to instill hope, and provide a sense of community rather than isolation. They are a forum where the members learn to nurture and nourish one another. Groups may be short term and designed around a specific issue, or they may be open ended and more general in nature.
Couples: Relationships often involve disagreement or conflict. Couples counseling can help you identify the behaviors and concerns that perpetuate the problems, and learn new ways of resolving them. When conflict cannot be resolved, I provide divorce and custody counseling, helping couples separate in the most amicable way possible, and addressing coparenting issues as necessary.
"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way"
~ Viktor Frankl
